Forest Flower!

Within the awareness of a forest flower
May my life gently unfold

Pray plough and prepare my mind, O Teacher

Bestower of happiness to one and all
I am that great one
Never thinking thus
Nor hankering for praise from the world

Even as a jasmine in the wild

Opening in silent oblivion

And spreading a divine fragrance

Remaining happily hidden by a leaf

Humble and shorn of all pride

Obtains true gratification

I am the great charitable one and

The whole world reaps my favours

Devoid of all such arrogant thought

And like the tree giving vast shelter while

Laden with sweet fruits and fragrant flowers

May my life be touched with a gentle genuineness

May my life gently unfold

ವನಸುಮದೊಳೆನ್ನ 
ಜೀವನವು ವಿಕಸಿಸುವಂತೆ 

ಮನವನನುಗೊಳಿಸು ಗುರುವೇ, ಹೇ ದೇವ 

ಜನಕೆ ಸಂತಸವೀವ 

ಘನನು ನಾನೆಂದೆಂಬ 

ಎಣಿಕೆ ತೋರದೆ 

ಜಗದ ಪೊಗಳಿಕೆಗೆ ಬಾಯ್ಬಿಡದೆ 

ಕಾನನದಿ ಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆಯು 

ಮೌನದಿಂಬಿರಿದು 

ನಿಜ ಸೌರಭವ ಸೂಸಿ 

ನಲವಿಂ ತಾನೆಲೆಯ ಪಿಂತಿರ್ದು 

ದೀನತೆಯ ತೋರಿ ಅಭಿಮಾನವನು ತೊರೆದು 

ಕೃತಕೃತ್ಯತೆಯ ಪಡೆವಂತೆ 

ಉಪಕಾರಿ ನಾನು 

ಎನ್ನುಪಕೃತಿಯು  ಜಗಕೆಂಬ 

ವಿಪರೀತ ಮತಿಯನುಳಿದು 

ವಿಪುಲಾಶ್ರಯವನೀವ 

ಸುಫಲ ಸುಮ  ಭರಿತ ಪಾದಪದಂತೆ 

ನೈಜ ಮಾದೋಳ್ಪಿನಿಂ ಬಾಳ್ವವೊಲು 

ವನಸುಮದೊಳೆನ್ನ 

ಜೀವನವು ವಿಕಸಿಸುವಂತೆ
